S. Korea, UAE Agree to Expand Cooperation

South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to enhance cooperation on the construction of the UAE’s additional nuclear power plants and a partnership to advance into the farm market of a third country. A South Korean delegation headed by Finance Minister Bahk Jae-wan on Monday held a meeting with UAE officials in Abu Dhabi to discuss bilateral cooperation in new areas of agriculture, communication and government procurement. South Korea sent the heads of 18 bureaus and departments from 14 ministries to the third meeting of the South Korea-UAE joint committee. The meeting addressed 18 agendas on five areas of trade, investment, small firms, industry and intellectual property. The two sides agreed to promote joint investment in a third country and expand their investment cooperation to areas of shipbuilding, components, metal and heavy industry.
