Samsung Elec. to launch Galaxy S3 in US as planned

South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics is expected to roll out its latest smartphone Galaxy S3 in the US market as planned.
Samsung’s US-based rival Apple had requested the US District Court to add the Galaxy S3 to existing lawsuits pending on the Galaxy Nexus on June 5. However, the judge presiding over the case said it is not possible to hold the injunction hearing before the date of launch (June 21), and Apple failed to stop launch of the Galaxy S3, according to a report of a Korean news agency Thursday.
US District Judge Lucy Koh announced June 11 that even if Apple files a motion for a preliminary injunction on a sales ban of Samsung’s Galaxy S3 before the date of launch, the hearing should be postponed because of the court schedule.
In other words, the US court cannot put a sales ban before launch of the Galaxy S3, and the Galaxy S3 will be launched in the US market as scheduled.
Apple analyzed the Galaxy S3 bought in the UK, and determined that the Galaxy S3 infringes over two Apple-owned patents, said the US-based iPhone maker, requesting a sales ban on the Galaxy S3 in the US market.
